There wasn't a ton of action on the highest of stakes, but still there were some interesting hands played and some movements noticed in the leaderboards. Timofey 'Trueteller' Kuznetsov was the biggest star for the last two weeks, winning the most money. He battled with a small legion of other familiar faces on the $100/$200 tables, coming out on top.
In this week's biggest pot, however, he ended up losing. In fact, he got it in with a mere six percent equity, and that's saying something in Pot Limit Omaha. The match didn't last too long, but the battle with 'RaúlGonzalez' was intense. The current No. 1 on the 2017 leaderboard up against the No. 2 of that same list.
Here's a look at this week's three biggest pots:
1) 'RaúlGonzalez' Wins a $54,742 Pot (273 Big Blinds) Off Timofey 'Trueteller' Kuznetsov
($100/$200 PLO HU)
'RaúlGonzalez' opened the button for $680 and big blind Kuznetsov three-bet to $2,120. RaúlGonzalez called in position, growing the pot to $4,400.
Kuznetsov checked on only for RaúlGonzalez to bet $3,237.75. Kuznetsov check-raised to $14,030.25, calling the shove for $25,171 that followed.
Player | Hand | Equity on |
---|---|---|
'RaúlGonzalez' | 94.02% | |
Timofey 'Trueteller' Kuznetsov | 5.98% |
Kuznetsov was drawing slim and would not get away with it. The two ran the turn and river twice, and both times RaúlGonzalez ended up dragging in the pot. Both times it came a heart first, to give Kuznetsov a flush draw. The first time the hit and his draw was live but the river came the gifting the pot to RaúlGonzalez.
The second time it came a heart again but the paired the board giving RaúlGonzalez a full house. Kuznetsov now held trips but the on the river did not give him a higher full house and again the pot went to RaúlGonzalez.
2) Alexander 'joiso' Kostritsyn Wins a $54,742 Pot (273 Big Blinds) Off 'bodamos' and 'RaúlGonzalez'
($250/$500 PLO 6-Handed)
Alexander 'joiso' Kostritsyn limped in for $500, and Brian 'aba20' Townsend raised to $3,000, according to the playback. 'Bodamos' called for $2,500 before RaúlGonzalez pushed for $5,062. This push was called by Kostritsyn, Townsend and bodamos.
With $20,500 in the middle, the flop came . Kostritsyn pushed for $14,937 and Townsend folded. Bodamos called.
Player | Hand | Equity on |
---|---|---|
Alexander 'joiso' Kostritsyn | 46.25% | |
'bodamos' | 42.34% | |
'RaúlGonzalez' | 11.41% |
While bodamos had two pair, Kostritsyn was in the lead with his over-pair, backdoor-straight and flush draw.
The on the turn helped Kostritsyn in the lead and the on the river was too late to help RaúlGonzalez.
3) 'BERRI SWEET' Wins a $51,084 Pot (255 Big Blinds) Off Dani 'supernova9' Stern
($100/$200 PLO HU)
'BERRI SWEET' opened the button for $680 and called as Dani 'supernova9' Stern three-bet to $2,120. That made for a $4,400 pot going into the flop.
Stern would triple barrel during the hand, firing $2,158 on the flop, pot for $8,634 on the turn and $12,549 on the river.
BERRI SWEET called all the way with his having rivered the nuts. Stern had for the rivered lower straight.
